A buyer's guide to the Livestock Auction

Wednesday, August 13, 5pm

We are excited to invite you to the upcoming Livestock Auction, where local youth will showcase and sell the market animals they’ve raised with dedication, responsibility, and hard work. This may be your first time attending as a buyer, and we want to make sure you feel informed and welcome.

The auction is a culmination of months of effort from Michigan youth, many of whom are saving for college, reinvesting in future livestock projects, or starting agricultural careers. Your support not only helps them achieve those goals but also connects your business with a proud tradition of community and agriculture.

What to Expect as a Buyer:

  • Bid on high-quality animals such as steers, pigs, lambs, goats, poultry, and rabbits.
  • Choose to keep the meat (processing fee separate),  resell the animal back into the market, or take the animal home (most common with rabbits & goats)!
  • Professional auctioneers will guide the bidding process—no experience necessary!
  • Friendly volunteers will be available to assist you every step of the way.

Why Businesses Participate :

  • Community Involvement – Support youth development and agriculture education.
  • Public Recognition – Your company name will be announced and included in sale materials.
  • Marketing Opportunities – Many buyers promote their support on social media and in local press.
  • Networking – Meet other local business owners, families, and community leaders.
  • Tax Deduction Potential – Consult your accountant to explore deductible options.
  • Free Dinner & a Fun Evening – Enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly event with great food!

We hope you’ll consider joining us this year. Whether you’re a small business or a large company, your presence makes a meaningful impact—and we’re confident you’ll enjoy the experience.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
